Went for a drive to have a look at the future site of Orokonui (a nature reserve near Dunedin), since I’m thinking about buying a fencepost. Drove up past the site (which is basically a pocket of native forest) and discovered that “Orokonui” is a Maori word meaning “Place of Abandoned Cars”. Aaaah, picturesque.
